I will be making my first official appearance as an author next week on “Between the Covers,” a book-related talk show on KBOO (90.7 FM). I hope I have thirty minutes’ worth of things to say about The Christmas Carol Murders, Dickens Junction, and my fascinating writing life.
In other “this is really happening” news, the book has gone live on amazon.com, at least for the trade paperback. The ebook will be available starting in about a week. I’m also on barnes and noble, but the cover image, for some reason, hasn’t yet appeared. My crack publishing consultant, Vinnie, is all over it, I’m sure.
And, also on the amazon front, I have actually sold a few books. How many I don’t yet know, but enough to acquire an amazon.com ranking. Which has become my newest obsession. Amazon has found a way to measure your value in their world with a precise number that is updated every hour. Since Saturday I have fluctuated from 52,441 (doesn’t that feel specific?) to somewhere in the low 300k range. And the book hasn’t even been officially released yet. I’m trying to check it less than hourly.
So if you’re in the Portland area, tune in to “Between the Covers” on Thursday, September 20, at 11:00 am. 90.7 on your FM dial…
